History
Relation to Parent Nonprofit Organization: Carson J Spencer Foundation (CJSF)
Working Minds is the programmatic arm of the Carson J Spencer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit- sustaining a passion for life. CJSF strives to help people live their best lives by shining a light of hope, illuminating dreams, and by offering guidance during difficult times. In order to fulfill this vision, the Carson J Spencer Foundation promotes entrepreneurial ideals through:
- Innovative and effective suicide prevention programming targeting the working aged population,
- Social enterprise funding mental health initiatives, and
- Support for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Carson J Spencer Foundation, established in 2005, is dedicated to preserving the memory of Carson J. Spencer, who took his own life after an acute cycle of bipolar disorder on December 7, 2004. Through the continuing legacy of this foundation, we hope to honor the man that brought so much good into the world by helping others. Carson was a loving husband and father, a caring son and brother, a dynamic and successful businessman, an accomplished athlete and a friend to many.
The Rocky Mountain News wrote after his death, “Carson was a bright star that burned out too quickly.” We hope to keep his light going.

Additionally, Website developers attempted to adhere to best practices in Web development, health promotion and suicide prevention.
